Early Planning for Spring Visitors

Spring is approaching, and it is easily the most desirable season of the year for many who live in and visit Arizona. Homeowners should plan ahead for incoming spring visitors.

Planning for spring visitors is something that you should keep in mind every year. With so many annual events like Spring Training, or just the perfect weather, spring will always attract visitors to come flocking.

Tidy Up Your Home

The term Spring Cleaning comes from the days when homes were heated by fireplaces, and efforts were made to prevent heat from escaping. The coming of spring and warm weather was an opportunity to air the house and clean it of soot and all the grime accumulated over the year.* Work ahead to remove clutter that has accumulated over the year, providing a comfortable environment for your incoming guests.

Have Snacks & Refreshments Ready

Be the best host and think about your guests’ needs—don’t let them go hungry or thirsty. Have a few alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages ready, along with some appetizers to snack on. Be sure to plan ahead for any children that might be visiting, and ask about any allergies your guests may have.

Come Up With Exciting Activities

There are plenty of activities you can do with your visitors. Take them on a hike, bring them to your favorite restaurants, have game night, or host a barbecue in your backyard. Find out your guests' interests and show them how amazing your city is.

There are so many places to go, events to attend, and memories to be made in Arizona.

Prepare Your Outdoor Space

When the weather is so wonderful outside, you definitely need to prepare your outdoor space for entertaining. Make sure to have enough seating and shade. If you don’t have outdoor furniture or shade solutions in your backyard, then now is the perfect time to invest in some.

Install Awnings

Primarily, awnings are to protect your guests from the sun’s rays. They expand outdoor entertainment space and provide guests with more shade. With retractable awnings, you can extend when you need, and retract when you don’t. This is perfect for monsoon season, protecting your awnings from strong winds.

Install Patio Shades

Patio shades block off the sun’s glare and can control the temperature so that your guests will be more comfortable. Zipper-sealed patio shades enclose your patio so that bugs & debris cannot ente, ensuring your food & beverages are safe.

Patio Shades and Awnings can both be manual or motorized, depending on your preference. There are also wind & sun sensors that automate your awnings & drop shades to retract with strong winds or extend when the sun intensifies. Also, to let the fresh breeze into your home while keeping bugs out, consider installing/replacing Window Sun Screens.

All Pro Shade Concepts offers Arizona the most customized experienced shade installations, allowing customers to get exactly what they need & want. Unlike other companies, All Pro can accommodate drop shades over 16 feet, fully encased options, and the very popular zipper-sealed option.

Get Started on Your AZ Oasis

The most essential factor to consider when building an oasis in your backyard is the comfort that it brings year-round, especially during summer. Contact a local, trusted shade installation company that provides your Arizona Home with quality products and services.

Turn Your Patio into a Backyard Oasis

Need inspiration for your next home project, something that everyone will enjoy? Create an oasis, a place to relax and enjoy company, in the midst of your sun-soaked Arizona Backyard. It may seem like a daunting task, but planning can make all the difference.

Here’s what you can do to make your patio the perfect backyard oasis.

Add a Patio Bar

When creating an oasis in your backyard patio, think about the comfort and convenience of having refreshments readily available. Adding a patio bar, complete with a mini-fridge, can make entertaining easy.

Mix up a variety of cocktails like a pro, & create a house drink that guests will surely remember.

Invest in Outdoor Furniture

If you want to kick back and relax in your patio oasis, it’s important to invest in some comfy outdoor furniture. The furniture you buy should be able to withstand the elements outside while showcasing your personal style.

Have tables, chairs, or benches to provide plenty of seating options for guests.

Get an Outdoor Rug

Create the perfect spot to sit around and gather with company, by accenting your patio with an outdoor rug. Find one that compliments your outdoor furniture & the decor. It’s also a good idea to measure the area first so you’ll have an idea of the size of the rug you’ll need.

Add Plants & Flowers

If you want to get that aesthetically-pleasing outdoor space, then you should mix it up by adding a variety of plants or flowers around your patio. You can throw in some more color by putting up some flower beds and you can even get that tropical feel by having bamboo, palm trees, and hibiscus. A beautiful flower arrangement as your centerpiece, or some hanging plants can add personality and depth to your space.

Add Awnings

Awnings extend from the wall and are often placed above patio openings, windows or doors. To extend the patio entertainment space, or provide more shade for your patio/pool area, Awnings are the perfect solution. Motorized & Manual Options are available, with a wide variety of colors. They are useful year-round, increasing shade from the summer sun, while providing more coverage during rainfall.

Install Patio Drop Shades

When you have the glare or heat of the sun to put up with, then you’re going to need patio drop shades for protection against the sun’s rays. Not only do they block off heat from your patio, but they also keep out rays from entering through your doors and windows. Choose from motorized or manual operated options. Look into Zipper-Sealed Patio Shades as an alternative to cable tracks, where your patio is completely enclosed to keep bugs & debris out of your patio.

All Pro Shade Concepts offers Arizona the most customized experienced shade installations, allowing customers to get exactly what they need & want. Unlike other companies, All Pro can accommodate drop shades over 16 feet, fully encased options, and the very popular zipper-sealed option.

Host the Most Epic Super Bowl Party

Now that 2019 is but a distant memory, it’s time to look forward to 2020’s first big event - The Super Bowl! Super Bowl LIV 2020 will be at 4:30 PM MST on

Sunday, February 2, 2020

If you’re planning to host a Super Bowl party in your home, it’s never too early to prepare. Here are some in hosting the most epic Super Bowl party:

Prepare the Space

Think about how guests will watch the game. Prepare the amount of seating you will need for everyone to enjoy the game comfortably. While the couch may not be adequate to accommodate all your guests, think about putting the game on in different areas. A popular Idea is to have the game on in the backyard. Grill burgers and hot dogs, or grab a beer while enjoying the game as the kids play.

Comfy seats are essential, and you should set them up so everyone can see the screen and easily access the food. If you’re hosting the party on your patio, you can expand your entertainment space with some awnings, or make it a little more intimate (and bug free!) with some zipper-sealed patio shades. Decorate the area according to the colors of the teams playing with some streamers, mini-flags and foam-fingers, and you’re all set!

Game & Half-Time Show Fun

Get everyone into the Super Bowl spirit with some fun games around the event. Start a drinking game that revolves around certain plays, commercials, or the half time show. Jennifer Lopez & Shakira will be the headliners for this year's Super Bowl Half Time Show.

Make a pool for Super Bowl predictions before the game starts and have everyone put in a couple dollars to play.  You can even have some fun with the prizes- get a little trophy and pop a bottle of champagne to celebrate the winner.

Simple, But Delicious Food

When it comes to Super Bowl parties, there’s no need to be fancy with food. Just remember these two things: savory and sweet. You can never go wrong with classics like barbecue, hotdogs, or tacos. Make your party standout by keeping food presentation cohesive to the Super Bowl theme, if you are feeling up for the challenge try to make a Super Bowl Snack Stadium. For dessert, make some Super Bowl-themed sweets (check out delicious recipes on Pinterest!).

Lots of Drinks!

A Super Bowl Party is not complete without some refreshing drinks. Think about what kind of drinkers your guests are, and how tipsy you want them to get. Get a beer keg or a cooler full of beer for the occasion.

Of course, not everyone drinks alcohol. Remember to serve fun non-alcoholic drinks for designated drivers and guests who prefer to stay sober. If there are kids attending think of what they would enjoy.

Ready to host the most unforgettable party ever? Let All Pro Shade Concepts get your backyard ready for parties all year round with high-quality shade solutions.

You would also want to hire someone who can customize shade solutions.

Shade structures are essential in every commercial or residential build, most especially in sunny Arizona.

Gyms

Most gyms usually have huge glass windows, and treadmills are usually placed in front of them. This design choice is pretty common, but it has some drawbacks. When the glaring sun gets in the way, it will be hard for your customer to get on that treadmill and burn some calories. This can frustrating for your gym instructors too. Spas

When your major selling point is wellness and relaxation, your customers’ comfort is your topmost priority. Spas that have beautiful outdoor or semi-outdoor spaces need shade solutions. Get Your Arizona Home Ready for Nice Weather

It’s been a long, hot summer, but it’s finally time to get your Arizona backyard and patio ready for the cooler fall and winter months! Check out these home makeover tips just in time for your outdoor soirees.

All Pro Shade Concepts installs custom window sun screens, awnings, and patio shades; and are the leading shade providers in Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, the East Valley (Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler, Tempe, Queen Creek) and West Valley (Phoenix, Glendale, Sun City, Laveen, Peoria, Avondale, Goodyear).

Mood Lighting

Nothing sets the mood like outdoor lighting when you’re entertaining. While standard overhead lighting on your patio is practical, it can make your outdoor party seem drab and dull. String market lights or lanterns across your entire yard to light up the whole space and make your yard and patio more inviting. Uplighting on trees makes a dramatic impression, and walkway lighting is a practical and trendy way to draw attention to your entertainment space.

Patio Shades are an amazing feature to add to your Arizona Backyard.

Add Patio Shades

Patio shades are another option that will improve your entertainment space. Make your backyard patio comfortable for your guests, by opting for a zipper-sealed track- as it helps to keep out bugs and blowing debris out without sacrificing the fresh air. Go for premium options by automating your patio shades, controlling it with a touch of a button via wall switch or smartphone. All Pro Shade Concepts utilizes only the best, top-of-the-line motors by Somfy

New Patio Furniture

Labor day is the symbolic “end of summer” holiday, so many stores try to clear out all their summer merchandise to make way for fall and holiday decor. Patio furniture is no longer advertised, which means you may be able to snag a great deal on a brand new outdoor dining set or outdoor seating collection. Your best bet at this point is to try searching clearance sections in store and online.

Extend Your Entertainment Space

Awnings are the perfect way to increase the amount of space for your guests to mingle. Place a few extra tables and chairs for your gathering underneath your awning, and they will be protected from the sun & rain. If you choose a retractable awning, you'll be able to retract the awning back when your guests leave, protecting the longevity of your fabric, while hiding your awning discreetly. All Pro Shade Concepts are the Arizona Trusted Experts in the installation of static and retractable awnings.

Landscape

As the heat of the summer drops, start thinking about getting your winter grass seeded. Most Arizona lawns consist of Bermuda grass in the summer and Ryegrass in the winter. In the summer, Bermuda grass is able to tolerate the city's triple-digit temperatures. But, Bermuda grass is dormant during the winter months. For this reason, if you want to keep your lawn looking beautiful &  green all year, you have to plant winter rye grass. October is the prime month to start scalping your lawn & planting your Ryegrass seeds.

Outdoor Games

Lawn games are a great way to enjoy the outdoors with your family and inspire a little friendly competition. Bocce ball is becoming popular again, and cornhole (or bean-bag-toss, depending on where you’re from) is always a classic game to play. You may be able to find lawn games like ladder ball and croquet on clearance at certain stores this time of year too!

How To Enjoy the Arizona Rain

At the height of summer, Arizona natives are accustomed to monsoon season where they typically see rainfall. Don’t let the rain of the season get you down. Here are tips to enjoy the Arizona rain -

Take A Walk

It might seem counterintuitive to walk while it’s raining out, but if it isn’t pouring to the point where you can’t see anything, the natural beauty that you can see during a light shower is amazing.

Go with friends, family, or enjoy some alone time. If you go with kids, release your inner child and jump in puddles with them!

Go For a Drive

If you’d rather stay a little more dry, you can go for a drive. It allows you to see the Arizona beauty that resurfaces from the rain, while avoiding your clothes being wet. You can drive to go somewhere like shops, restaurants or sweet treats, or you can simply drive to just feel like you’re getting away.

If you’re with kids, you can always drive to find the ends of rainbows!

Relax At Home

The most obvious way to enjoy the rain is to not even go anywhere. You can enjoy it from the comfort of your home. Twist it up a bit though - you don’t need to stay inside all day. Relax on your patio with friends and family to enjoy the smells and sounds of the rainy day. One option outside is to have lunch with comfortable seating and tables big enough for the whole family.

If it is just a bit warm outside, consider installing fans in the patio space to cool it down a bit.

These patio shades are sealed to protect you from what nature has to throw at you while still being able to see outside. You can even opt to have them motorized in order to control them with your smartphone.

Swimming To Escape The Heat? Don’t Let Sun Exposure Affect Your Family’s Health

When temperatures soar to over 100 degrees in an Arizona summer, there’s no better way to cool down than to take a dip in a cold, refreshing pool. Whether you’re floating in the water, or splashing around with the kids, never forget the health risks that the sun poses to you and your family. With the harmful UV rays shining down on you (and reflecting off of a pool), there are many things you can do to limit your health risks. Remember that the sun can give you sunburns that can be so painful that you feel you cannot move and it itches, it can cause blistering, it can prematurely age you, and you can develop freckles and moles that can then turn into cancer.

Even if you don't plan on hopping in the pool this summer, here are tips to make sure you all have fun while still being safe.

Lather on the SPF

The most important thing to remember when you’re out in the sun (going swimming or not) is to apply sunscreen. If you will be hanging out at the pool, the number one rule is to reapply - and liberally. The CDC recommends using at least an SPF of 15 prior to going outside. Of course, the higher the SPF number the more protection it is supposed to give. You should reapply every two hours, or after swimming, sweating, or toweling off.

Last but not least, make sure your sunscreen has not expired. If it does not have an expiration date, sunscreen typically has a shelf life of about three years.

All Pro Shade Concepts installs custom window sun screens, awnings, and patio shades; and are the leading shade providers in Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, the East Valley (Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler, Tempe, Queen Creek) and West Valley (Phoenix, Glendale, Sun City, Laveen, Peoria, Avondale, Goodyear).

A hat is definitely a good thing to wear while relaxing in the pool. Also consider wearing sunglasses. Not only will they protect your eyes from the bright sunlight and reflection of the sun off the pool, but it protects your eyes from sun damage along with the skin surrounding your eyes.

Protective Clothing

Another way to protect yourself is to cover your skin whenever possible. If you are not swimming and can bear to put on some sort of clothing (thin and light would be best in the heat), that would help against the harmful UV rays. Additionally, it would be a good idea to wear a sun hat. It will give you shade on your face and neck, and if the brim is large enough, it could even give you some protection on your shoulders.

Find Shade

The last way to protect you and your family from the harsh sun is to hang out in the shade whenever possible. That could be sitting under a big tree, under a patio umbrella, or under an awning or patio shade. A Patio umbrella is an easy, inexpensive option, but if you’re having a party, it would not be sufficient to provide shade for everyone.

When trying to provide the most shade as possible in your yard, think of installing an awning or patio shades.

An awning gives you additional shade on your patio. It increases the amount of shaded area by attaching it to your home and extending out. Awnings are typically retractable so they don’t always need to be out.
A patio shade attaches to your existing patio and comes down like a window shade so it can block the sun from coming into your patio. It can also block out winds, bugs and dirt when retracted down.

Let's Get Started!
All Pro Shade Concepts specializes in the honest & professional installation of custom window screens, awnings, & patio shades.

If you’re trying to decide between an awning or patio shade, you can always consult the experts at All Pro Shade Concepts. They offer a free home inspection to determine what shade solutions would best fit your needs and your home. They even create shade solutions that can be controlled by your smartphone! Contact them at 623-201-4969 for more information.

Don’t let the sun beat you out of your fun this summer!

Thinking Of Selling Your Home? Upgrades That Can Attract Buyers

Are you ready to sell your home in hopes of finding your dream home? Maybe you’re relocating for work or family. Either way, if you’re considering selling your current home, there are some upgrades you should consider making in order to attract the most buyers. Here are some tips -

Update Flooring

If your carpet/tile/hardwood is looking a bit dirty and run down, you should definitely consider updating it. Hardwood is always a classic, nowadays tile should be kept strictly to bathrooms and kitchens to avoid a dated look, and it’s best to keep carpet colors on the neutral side.

If hardwood flooring is the look you’re going for but you don’t want to spend a lot of money, you can look for laminate flooring that looks like wood. This will keep costs down, but still attract buyers to the more modern look.

Tip: buyers will like the look of consistent flooring throughout. So don’t go out and pick a bunch of different types and/or colors of flooring.

All Pro Shade Concepts installs custom window sun screens, awnings, and patio shades; and are the leading shade providers in Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, the East Valley (Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler, Tempe, Queen Creek) and West Valley (Phoenix, Glendale, Sun City, Laveen, Peoria, Avondale, Goodyear).

Tip: Try to keep the colors you choose light, bright, and neutral - especially if there is not a lot of natural light filtering in these rooms.

Kitchen/Bathroom Renovation

If your budget allows it, consider a kitchen and/or bathroom renovation. Doing one or both of these could significantly increase the value of your home and the willingness of buyers to take a look at your home. It could be as simple as changing the backsplash in your kitchen or repainting old cabinets and installing new hardware on it. If you’re looking for more value to be added, replacing your countertops will help as well.

Landscaping

Curb appeal. If you haven’t heard that term yet, get used to hearing it. This is the first thing buyers will see and consider. If the outside of your home is not appealing, chances are they won’t even bother stepping inside. To avoid this, try updating your landscape. Make sure there are no dead weeds or plants.

Ensure there is not clutter from toys or old furniture. If you’re able to, try having your home repainted. A fresh coat of paint can go a long way in addition to updated roofing.

Tip: Think about updating your front door as well - especially if it’s looking old and paint is chipping.

Your goal here is to make someone drive by and want to stop just by looking at the outside of your home.

Tip: If you are installing sun screens in your windows, be sure to consult a professional. This is one project you should not try to DIY. All Pro Shade Concepts are experts at installations and even customize them to your liking. The company even participates in the SRP Shade Screen Rebate Program, which could end up saving you money if their sun screens are installed into your home!

Update Windows

If your home was constructed pre 1970 and hasn’t been updated since, the windows are probably not the best for several reasons. If your home is so old that it doesn’t have a good central air system, home buyers will already be hesitant. By replacing or updating your windows, this could help insulate the home further, allow for a window A/C unit to be installed, and give the home a more modern look. You could also consider installing sun screens in the windows to further insulate the home.

Doing this could keep more heat from coming into the home and give it another uniform look from the outside (hint: curb appeal!). They will also allow you more privacy from the outside, while still being able to see the view from the inside.

Let's Get Started!
All Pro Shade Concepts specializes in the honest & professional installation of custom window screens, awnings, & patio shades.

Tip: If you haven’t looked at it in over a year and it is not any kind of important document, you probably will never look at or need it again. It’s time to say goodbye to it.

Declutter

This one isn’t so much an upgrade as it is a must do. If you were to walk into a home with a lot of items strewn everywhere, you probably wouldn’t want to stay long either. So why expect homebuyers to? Make sure you declutter your home prior to any open houses (and before photos are taken as well!) to prevent potential homebuyers missing the little details you love and worked so hard to update. You could have the most beautiful living room, but if your kids have taken it over as a playroom, it won’t feel inviting to someone looking to buy.

Does Your AZ Home Need Updating?

You purchased your home 5, 10+ years ago. Back then, it may have been fully updated and turn-key, or maybe you bought a fixer upper and never got around to finishing it. If you can feel your home’s age, it may be time to do some updating. You can update it from the inside, or from the outside - it all depends on how much time you have. Whatever you choose, you will improve your living surroundings, and are now increasing your home’s equity.

Update the Inside

With all that's available: online shopping, purchasing new furnishings is as easy as a tapping a few buttons on your phone. Update your overworn couch, purchase new chinaware, or find a great entryway table.

Try finding unique pieces at garage sales or consignment stores and repainting them to match your homes style. If you have more time, look into painting rooms, replacing old flooring, or renovating the bathrooms and kitchen.

While you beautify the interior of your home, you'll want to protect it, too. If you want to customize the visibility of the inside of your home, look into having window sun screens installed to all the windows in your home. This will give you the security and privacy you’re looking for, being able to see out of your windows, but bystanders wont be able to see in.

Update Your Exterior

When you update the outside of your home, you instantly improve its curbside appeal. In your front yard you could update your landscaping with new plants, a fountain, or pavement. Replacing your old garage door will make your life easier if it hasn’t been working properly in addition to giving your home a uniform look.

Custom window sun screens can completely change the look of your Arizona Home's exterior. Replace old, faded, or torn window sun screens to give your home an elegant, and more sophisticated look.

A Backyard Dream

If you’re more into updating your backyard, look at updating your pool with a waterfall or new tiles, upgrade your patio furniture with newly upholstered cushions & umbrellas, or purchase a new grill for all the summertime parties you can host in your updated backyard.

Get ready to party!

To prevent damage to your new furniture and grill, you can also install awnings or patio shades. Awnings attach directly to your home and are retractable so you can choose whether or not you want to use it. Patio shades are a great option if you want to be able to shade your patio like an awning, but want more coverage and versatility. With patio shades you can protect your patio from different kind of weather including rain! In addition, it shields it from unwanted insects and from blocks most of the sun’s harmful rays.
